The Ultimate Choice???
I spent a good half-day thinking about the answer to this question: If your mother and your girlfriend are both in trouble and you can only save one of them, whom would you save? I tried to weigh the benefits and disadvantages of each choice.
Save the Mother. You won't have another mother but you can always get other girlfriends. Sounds pretty tough on the girlfriend huh? One disadvantage would be that you're gonna be saving a nagger instead of a lover. If your girlfriend is a nagger then it would be better for you because there's going to be one less nagger in your life. Bwahahaha!
Save the Girlfriend. This is the choice to make if you hate your mother's guts. Your girlfriend would want to marry you by then because you picked her over your mom. The only major disadvantage here would be if you're still in highschool or you're still unemployed. There will be no one else to ask if you need some extra money.
Seriously though, if you think about it really hard, these types of choices are but rare in the real world because in every choice you make, there are a lot of available possibilities and you can explore them all. It's up to you to pick the road you are to trudge. If I were placed in that situation, I choose to save them both … or die trying. Other people could choose not to save anybody at all. It all depends on the situation and you will never be certain of the outcome because everything will depend on the choices you make. These choices are like streams that come from every direction, and yet they all join into a single river -- the river of destiny. I believe in fate but I also believe that it is forged by our decisions, a destiny that manifests itself only through man's actions. "I am the master of my fate... I am the Captain of my Soul..."
